Parerata
A home that showcases innovative materials and thoughtful country living.
Architect: Jenny Walters
Landscaping: Zoe Carafice

Set on a rural Paerata site, this home blends contemporary design with tranquil country living.
Built from Porotherm structural clay blocks,
it combines durability, sustainability and excellent thermal performance. Soft grey and natural tones flow throughout, highlighted by the Sandstone Grey Espan roof, textured Rockcote plaster and vertical shiplap cedar cladding, while a lush garden frames the sheltered turning circle and entry.

At the heart of the home, the open-plan kitchen, dining and living space captures uninterrupted views of farmland, pool and garden. Oak veneer cabinetry and a honed stone island create a refined yet inviting hub.
A concealed scullery and Chambolle limestone floors extend seamlessly to covered outdoor dining and lounge areas, connecting interior and exterior living.

The master suite is a private retreat layered with natural textures and quiet luxury. A custom oak vanity, lime-finish plaster walls and heated limestone floors complement a secluded outdoor bath, offering a restorative connection to the landscape.
